أجمل جزر العالم :: جزيرة بورا بورا 

The island of Bora Bora located on , 265 kilometers northwest of the island of Tahiti, which is an island of 

volcanic origin consisting of the remains dormant volcanoes!

As for the strange name, Bora Bora, it means inTahitian language "first birth", because it is (as the locals say) the island was the first to appear after Riatia Islands.

Bora Bora is characterized by being surrounded by coral reefs of most of the trends, while there is a large lake west of the island.

As for the population do not exceed the 9.000 inhabitants (according to figures from 2007), and its population depends heavily on tourism as a source of income,while their products are limited to crops, marine products and coconut trees. 

Bora Bora became a French protectorate in 1842 and remains so today. It is worth mentioning that the flight from Paris to Bora Bora takes a period ranging between 20 and 22 hours!
